Hurricanes are hard enough on the Southeast when folks are well.
Heaven help those hurricane zone states now suffering high COVID hospitalizations and deaths.
As Mary Trump says, her uncle takes pleasure in others' misery. He'll contract out disaster money to those who give him a kickback, and little from this WH occupant will reach them in any timely way, not even tossed paper towels. These states had better stockpile emergency supplies even more this year.
Hurricanes usually show up by late August.

(63,221 posts)If there is a major hurricane (or two) that makes landfall in Sept/Oct and we have an even bigger resurgence of Covid-19 with children going back to school/people going back to work/businesses opening back up again, Trump is going to be toast. There is no way he will be able to manage these things effectively if they are occurring all at once.

(36,238 posts)Only those that sweep across the state hit us, like Irma did when it blew our back porch off a few years ago.
Still, that was the first one in 15 - 20 years. I'm hoping the odds are with us.

(60,082 posts)It seems the bad stuff goes either north or south of us. Still we get some ugly storms that rearranges lawn furniture and knocks over old oaks.
