(3,534 posts)In 1979 the house select committee on assassinations concluded based on forensic analysis of recordings from the plaza that at least 4 shots were fired, one from the so-called grassy knoll. This is now an official government conclusion.

(8,401 posts). . . there is no way to know how reliable the man's memory of the events is. The fact is, NO ONE's memory is as good as they think it is. And memory, far from being a reliable record, is malleable, and can change over time, all while the person continues to believe he remembers things exactly as they happened. So, he could genuinely think this is what he remembers, and yet it could be completely incorrect. And the fact that what he is saying now doesn't quite jibe with what he said at the time doesn't exactly inspire confidence. So coming out with this now is effectively useless.
