the damn books they point to rhetorically, they seem to base their knowledge of said books (including the Bible) on the movies or TV shows that supposedly are based on the books... if even that (popular meme-like babble being even more likely than bothering to watch a video from start to finish)... while ignoring the inevitable and often egregious differences.

And when it comes to books, the Republicans want to ban them. And I wouldn't be surprised if Frankenstein - (from 1818) - is one of them.
