Our long-time neighbor, friend of my mother's, always rented a cabin on Indian lake every summer with her kids, now grand kids, where the the Newfoundland could swim and I remember one summer they ended up with a bear breaking into the cabin - life in the North Country...

Bear encounter and flying on a plane. We have lots of lakes here in Michigan, and I hear that Minnesota has 10,000 ! As a child I spent some time on Black Lake in Onaway, Michigan, walk out to your chest, sand for days, so clear.

The biggest one is Lake George, but there are numerous other lakes and the population grows exponentially every summer. I had to go to a meeting in Lake George last week and it's very weird, few cars and nothing was open but a single pizza place. In the summer it's crowded with people - I know that people live there since there's a school!

And though this is traditionally Republican district, I don't know a single Trump supporter personally. But last year before the election I drove up north - Lake Luzerne - to visit a friend who lives in a beautiful log cabin up there. Though I did not see even one around here, I was astounded to see Trump yard signs all over! Many people there make a living through the summer tourist trade. I got impossibly lost, but waited till I finally got a cell phone connection since I was scared to stop and ask for directions!

That said, I'm not a fan of flying, either. I haven't flown since before 9/11.

Getting lost. Many towns here in Michigan, swell with population in the summer. Did the single pizza place have good pizza? Reminds me of Lexington Michigan, just north of Port Huron, one restaurant open, maybe two. Sorry you had to go through getting lost with no cell service, you must of been scared to get impossibly lost, I know I would of been, found myself in that situation a few times in my life. Your DU name reminds me of one of my favorite songs. Heading to bed, thanks for the convo.

I think I told you this?

Driving around here in the summer can be treacherous - and prone to traffic snarls - since a lot of them choose to get off the highway at the exit which is on my way anywhere! And I didn't stop at the pizza place. I know there's a second location of my favorite local place somewhere around there, but I haven't managed to locate it yet. That's what they seem to have in Lake George, pizza places and T-shirt shops!

I wasn't too nervous when I was lost since it was in the middle of the day, but it sure unnerved me to see all those Trump signs! I don't know a single person who can stand Trump, but those are just people I actually know. I finally got a cell phone connection, called my friend and she talked me in, but it was a wake up call since New York is supposed to be a "blue state!" We have a lot of Republicans in local offices, but the Democrats won the big races just last week - Town Supervisor and City Mayor!

And that's a good video, but the name came from my all time favorite:

Unfortunately, I know 5 Trump supporters, 2 brothers and 3 sisters, ugh, of course we don't talk at all anymore. I deleted all friends on FB, pro or anti... and didn't look back. I think we all should feel the big blue wave about to hit, hopefully!

And my brother watches FOX News, but he really didn't like Trump. I think he was a John Kasich supporter, but he didn't like Hillary, either, so I didn't push it, just hoped he did the right thing. He has a Master's Degree in political science, so he think he knows more than I do...
