Another warning about RawStory tracking cookies

On Sunday Nov 6th “List left” reported getting 381 tracking cookies after visiting the RawStory news website.
On Monday Nov 7th, the following day, I read the “List left” thread (after I had visited RawStory).

At that time, I immediately ran ‘SuperAntiSpyware’ and found I’d downloaded 686 tracking cookies.
I deleted RawStory from my saved list of news websites.

While reading DU today, I clicked on a thread (I forget which one) and clicked on a link in the thread,
which took me to an article on RawStory.

I immediately got out of there, and ran ‘SuperAntiSpyware’.
It showed I had downloaded 166 tracking cookies in the minute or so I was on RawStory.

FYI ~ do with it as you will.

Apparently not all 'cookies' are created equal.

Just deleting "all your cookies"
apparently does not 'delete all your cookies'.

I do delete my history, cookies, etc each time I log off my laptop.
And every day or so I run my anti-this and anti-that programs (six in total) and get rid of everything else.

I suspect folks who are trusting their computers software alone for protection may be at risk.

And I've tried "ghostly',
not liking it.

Hummm I just deleted cookies, history ran ghostery and changed my underwear...
Nothing nada.. Opened the browser (safari) and went to raw story while monitoring my "cookie jar".
5 cookies, raw story being one and ghostery blocked 5 web sites from depositing unwanted tracking cookies.. Must be the mac cause I can't figure out why other people get so many cookies. I also run Ad Blocker.. I do notice that I have to delete cookies, history and relaunch the finder to get rid of the little web site icons from my menu bar.. Those may be the other cookies you are talking about?
Any way no problem on my end with this set up..
