I installed security cameras around the house a few years back, because there's so much drama that I missed in the early years. Well, the last two nights the cam picked up some strange activity. Last night it was a golfcart that drove the golfpath at night and flooded my neighbor's backyard with light. I assumed he was there on request, since there is a lot of good buddying that goes on in this community.
Tonight, the strange activity escalated. This time it was a man with a small dog that was on the golfpath at night. You could follow his activity because he carried a very bright flashlight. Came around into the development, walked in and walked out. He freely cast the light of that flashlight on the yards he walked by.
Now, I don't know if the four or five car drive-throughs that occurred tonight were attributed to that man's walk-thru. It could have also been the huge raccoon that walked through the neighborhood tonight that may have set off motion detectors. But I doubt it, because I wouldn't have taken a tiny dog along with me if I were looking for a wild raccoon. So I can't say I know what the source of the problem was. Just a night where everyone seemed to be marshmallowing.
But, I did pick up on one incongruity. My neighbor set of their floodlights, (which I suspect are not up to code because they are so bright they light up my side of the property). It just occurred to me, that those floodlights are so effective in throwing light on the back yards, that I wonder why someone needed to come by last night to essentially do the same thing?
Well. Maybe I answered my own question. It's a community that relies on good buddying.
