Markus Hellstrom, head of the Fazer groups bakery division, said Thursday that one loaf contains about 70 dried house crickets, ground into powder and added to the flour. The farm-raised crickets represent 3 percent of the breads weight, Hellstrom said.
Finns are known to be willing to try new things, he said, and according to a survey commissioned by Fazer good taste, freshness were among the main criteria for bread.
According to recent surveys of the Nordic countries, Finns have the most positive attitudes toward insects, said Juhani Sibakov, head of Fazer Bakery Finlands innovation department.

Rapeseed oil changed name to Canola. Insect food just needs a good name to prosper.

(17,235 posts)1. Insects don't belong in bread.
Specially the bread I eat.

Bees, ants, anything else, no way. No meal worms, either.

Git rid of insect or bug or worm.
Change cockroach to nuttleleaf. I could get behind nuttleleaf bread.

Though I'm relatively sure there were no insects involved.

I dont believe it would qualify as vegetarian however.
