question everything

Any Facebook experts here?

I joined at the end of last year. No, was not interested in posting stories only to read others from family and friends, and, sometime, would be the only way to get the attention of a corporation.

And I was asked to provide a birth date. I never give my real birthday. I figure all the sites want to is protect themselves in case I am younger than 13, or whatever the minimum age is (fat chance..)

But, when that faux date came, all of a sudden I did get some congratulations and some chuckles from the ones who know the real age, congratulating the younger me. (1955 sounded nice, round number)

So... I know that one can actually remove the date altogether. I got a link that did not do much.

Any step by step directions will be appreciated.

Happy New Year. 2018 has to be better

Go to your home page....

Click on "about"
Scroll down to "basic info", edit option should be upper right of this tab.
You can set it so "only me" (or you) can see the birthdate info.....

Hope this helps!

Happy New Year!

I think that one can - or was able to - actually delete birth date. When I changed it, I had to confirmed that I am now... well. older than 62..

only "Update info"

And all they "allow" me is to change my photo, or to add schools, cities, workplace, etc..

Because I don't feel I need lots of birthday greetings from everyone, I've been wanting to get rid of my birth date for some time. I now have it so only I can see it.

Thank you, thank you.
