(22,908 posts)So you've been there! The first time I visited Scotland, it felt as if I were returning home (a banal cliche but nonetheless true)
Thank you for that
I'll never forget; I was travelling by ferry from Ayre, Scotland, to Larne, N. Ireland. It was a blustery, misty day, and I was standing at the rail of the ship, soaking up the atmosphere (and the rain; lots and lots of rain...). I saw this huge mist-shrouded rock jutting up from the sea. It didn't look quite real, like something out of a dream...
I asked another passenger what it was, and she told me.
I haven't seen it since, but I've been fascinated with the place since that day.
