(206,769 posts)I had to look him up! As well as that colorful and beautiful bird! He's an orphaned Kirks dik-dik named Thanos being raised at the Chester Zoo in England, a species of antelope, and he's not expected to get much bigger! And the bird is a seven-colored tanager which is native to Brazil. I learn something new on DU every day. Thanks for the spectacular pix!

(206,769 posts)Speaking of which, we've been buried with snow these past few weeks and when I drove home the other night I slowed down and stopped about halfway down my street because there was some kind of gathering at the end - turns out it was a whole gaggle of deer - at least three or four! I must have startled them because they were all jumping through deep snow! I'm always on the lookout for deer when I drive home at night, but this is the first time I've seen them since the snow and have never seen so many all at once!

Have you seen the doc again for your coughing?
Get an x-ray!
Rhiannon12866
(206,769 posts)And it's not so much the coughing, but my sinuses. I'm still blowing my nose.
discntnt_irny_srcsm
(18,489 posts)Get an x-ray, CT or whatever. I only want to read about you in the first person.
My friend Tom was coughing for a few months and thought it was allergies then a cold, blah, blah, blah.
It was lung cancer.
Rhiannon12866
(206,769 posts)And I did see the doctor who confirmed it was the flu - said they're seeing all kinds of weird strains of flu this year. He gave me an antibiotic - one of those Z-paks which usually work - but it's the chills and nose blowing that's hanging on. And it doesn't help that we've had blizzards and hit 20 below here. I am very sorry about your friend. I have had a chest X-Ray in the past when I had bronchitis.
discntnt_irny_srcsm
(18,489 posts)Please take care of yourself and I hope your better soon.
Rhiannon12866
(206,769 posts)I definitely am better, and it doesn't look like it's turned into bronchitis this time - but I should probably check with the doctor again since it's been over a month and I'm still buying Mucinex.

That fake throw the ball doggie reminds me of Yosemite Sam.
I love the cute little Corgis.
I love the nip angels.
I just vacuumed under the fridge so my cat could have his toys back.
That poor doggie with the cone of shame and the lampshade.
The cobweb catcher looks familiar.
Thanks, SCE.
