You just got to have dog love

This morning our oldest daughter she is due in March. With our first grandchild and then our youngest is due in June. Well her and our son in law came to visit. My wife and our daughters and friends went to march yesterday. But what makes me smile and feel really good is when our daughter is here no matter where she is at. The newfie is her shadow when she sits down on the sectional he climbs up and rest his muzzle near her stomach. If she is sitting in the recliner he thinks he needs to be in chair with her. And yesterday he does not try and sit on her lap he will climb into chair behind her and lay down. Ok I’m in position let’s cuddle with the baby in your stomach.

When they went to bed last night they know they have to do it on the sly. Because he wants to be near her and going bed last night brushing my teeth I looked out in hallway ,and he was laying at their bedroom door ok man let me in I need to cuddle her and the baby you know she needs me. He is ready to take care of his human baby when he arrives and be a good uncle. All the dogs will be cool they love my little buddy Nate who is three. But this morning she is having danish and mr is on the couch not really begging but open to sharing danish. I told my son in law he is awesome guy he will help with the baby.

She was leaning forward yesterday in the chair and he is like thanks I’ll climb in behind you.
He is so loyal to her he is on couch next to her. It is amazing how in tune he is knowing she has a baby.

I have some wonderful pictures of our Charlie dog snuggling with my sister and her belly when she was pregnant with my niece twenty years ago. He loved that baby all of his life.

I was alone at home with just the cat and the dog. The cat woke me up by standing with his front paws on my chest and meowing inches from my face. Before I could say his name my water broke. During the next hour I didn't feel any pain but I could feel the contractions which were still wide apart. When I called my cousin to tell her it was time, the dog and the cat were both glued to my sides. When I moved they moved with me and when I sat down they layed down on either side leaning into me.

After my son was born they transferred that protectiveness to him. Pets are amazing.
