Who did they piss off? So glad they are getting the recognition they deserve, but should have happened years ago

But, better late than never. And I think the Moody Blues probably care less about such "honors" than you and I do. When artists actually do "art for art's sake," it always shows.

I saw Justin Hayward and John Lodge last summer on their Days of Future Passed tour. They were wonderful! ( Sheesh, for a couple old guys, they sound so good like they're still in their twenties, maybe even better)

Been a Moodies fan forever. How come they've been ignored by the music industry for decades?

I'm not against them going (though I'm not personally much of a fan ... and KiWS is a great tune) EVENTUALLY ...

But not before ...

The Cure, The Smiths, Radiohead, Carole King, SLAYER, Soundgarden, Motorhead, Nine In Nails, Def Leppard, The Replacements, Kraftwerk, Judas Priest, King Crimson, Roxy Music, Sonic Youth, Pixies, Depeche Mode, New Order ...

Just to name a few ...

None of these (possible exception of Carole King) is in the same league with the Moodys! I love Def Leppard and Kraftwerk (Autobahn! ), and enjoy the music of several others, but they just don't hold a candle to the Moody Blues for artistic beauty. The Moodys should've been in a DECADE ago!

And if they go before The Cure I might have to throw a small tantrum.

Moody's were very good but not particularly influential, IMHO ... The Cure were exceptionally unique and the ripples of their legacy continues to be felt in new bands pretty much constantly. I'm not going to compare them to the Beatles because nobody is at their level in terms of pioneering and influence, but it's that same sort of thing ... with The Cure. I'd put them along the lines of ... say ... Sex Pistols, REM, Talking Heads, Black Sabbath, The Stooges, Big Star, and Velvet Underground ... all widely considered 'seminal' bands.

And a good day to you sir/madam.

I've seen them live many times.

FTR, Yes was only inducted just last year. And they're awesome too.

In my mind, it's like the Grammy's. People forego what is good for what is popular.

Britney Spears was popular. It should take her until 2100 before she gets inducted.
