AMAZING and AWESOME Artifacts (Some rather earthy)

Samurai helmet (kabuko) shaped like an octopus. About 18th century, Japan

Cockpit of Spirit of St. Louis

17th Century silver watch

Shigir Idol - oldest known wooden sculpture in the world, made during the Mesolithic period, around 10 000 BC.

Many, many more - well worth viewing:

I enjoyed every picture.
I did notice though that the one labeled "eight sarcophagi containing mummies standing on a cliff side"
resembles the statues on Easter Island.

The cat and the manuscript cracked me up! The little drawings were very funny.

And the helmet of the Roman emporer--it's hard for me to imagine anyone wearing such a thing!

Thanks for these, packman. I will enjoying perusing them throughout the day.

I went on to see the 123 pictures. I was glued to my chair. It's amazing to think of past civilizations and how they lived. Thank you for this.

If it looks like Lindy couldn't see forward because of that enormous instrument panel, you're right.
