My wife and I are privileged to be hosting California Peggy and Lionel Mandrake for a few days. We have a few excursions in mind (down to Cologne and the Neandertal), but today is supposed to have the best weather of the week, so we are just having a nice little Greek "snack" and hanging out for today.
I'll let Peggy fill you in on the rest...........

(54,520 posts)Neander Valley in German is Neandertal or Neanderthal. There is a museum on the site of the 1856 discovery, and it's about a 20 minute drive from where I live. There is a life-size replica of Homo Republicanensis in the area depicting life about 40,000 years ago, so right about the time when today's Republican policies were staring to be formed.
We also had very unusual experience at the Düsseldorf HQ of Nikon. Peggy will tell you all about that in another post. One of those, "are you kidding me?" type of experiences (the positive kind).

(54,520 posts)In reality, it has been exactly three, and two of them are married and are here now.
Düsseldorf is not exactly on the beaten path, and I am usually out and about anyhow. For California Peggy, of course, I made a big exception. But, then, who woudn't?
