Wish I could find it online somewhwere.....from the New Yorker, I think, back in the 70s. Showed this house in the middle of nowhere--TOTALLY SURROUNDED by cop cars, troops, tanks, APCs, SWAT teams, snipers on the roof, helicopters overhead--and a man in a dark trenchcoat at the front door, telling the homeowner, "We understand you tore the little tag off your mattress."
