Great timpani part, which is how I judge many pieces..

What orchestra, do you know?


Listening now to 2nd mvt..
Even here, those few sforzando timpani rolls with brass are brilliantly conceived and a joy to wait for and to play...

bass/celli pizz section is otherworldly-- now...!!

These are the drums used for over a century by the Vienna Philharmonic- also, in these photos, by the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra.
