Snowy, blustery Sunday in Michigan.
It's a crappy day in Michigan. Blizzard warnings to the north of us, high wind warnings here. We might just as well be under a blizzard warning because you can hardly see across the street. The very strong winds have brought Lake Effect snows far inland. I woke up today to a light breeze, rain showers, and the temperature at 45F.
The weather has deteriorated considerably throughout the day with plummeting temperatures, rain turning to snow, and winds steady at 24 mph, gusting to 60 mph. The worst of it is supposed to be now through midnight. They're warning about widespread power outages due to the wind. They conducted a wholesale tree butchering...er..trimming, operation last year, so we'll see if it's paid off. I hope so. I've got everything charging I can and fresh batteries, lol. I gassed up the car in case I need to charge my cellphone. The cats & I will be fine if the power goes out It's my 5 Dwarf Aquatic Frogs and assorted aquarium fish that worries me. I'd hate to have to snuggle in bed cradling a Tupperware container of aquatic life, but I'll do it if necessary.
Here's what the world looks like 3 blocks from me:
And a couple of miles away at the State Capitol:
I hope all of my DU friends are safe and warm!
