Cold War Spook
(1,279 posts)at the same time, a cat in our neighborhood had kittens. Only one lived and she only had 3 good legs. My wife had to cut off the bad leg. The bird was taught to say, pretty baby. I took a couple of years, but he finally learned to let himself out of his cage. He flew down to the cat and started talking to her. They got along great. Earlier this year the cat needed surgery on what was left of her bad leg and had to wear a collar to keep her from biting the wound. It upset her very much. The bird got out of his cage and flew down to her. He went inside the collar and started kissing her and talking to her. She stayed with that cat until the collar came off. Unfortunately, the cat died about a month ago and the bird is still upset. We have 6 dogs and 2 cats and they all get along. Now two hens have decided to live with us. One is still a little scared of the other hen but not scared of the dogs and cats, but the other one comes into the house for breakfast and dinner.
