I am old and too set in my tastes to seek out new sounds through the jungle of uninspired crap in today's mainstream or rock scenes...

(17,984 posts)All time:
-Hendrix
-Zeppelin
-Black Uhuru
-Son House
-Dylan
Current favorites
-Refused (kind of older but what the hell)
-Cobalt
-Manu Chao (again, sort of older)
That's all I can think of for currents! I guess I'm pathetic when it comes to keeping up with trends.

(2,474 posts)the Kinks, the Rolling Stones, Cream, and Frank Zappa and the Mothers of Invention. Just 5 seems like a straight Jacket.
Alice in Chains, Pearl Jam, Are those two still current?
Youtube has changed my style of listening so that I'll hear a nice group such as Mississippi Shakes, do a deep dive on them, then move on. Radio, except genre blues/jazz/classical has lost its charm so I do't get new music that way. So I don't get the same 24/7 top of the charts repeated in my ear and there's no new album sharing party where you go over the latest offering from your favs.
So I haven't really fallen for any one group like I did when I was a teen.

Nowadays, I eschew Pop and R&R. I listen to Ambient, Chill, Down Tempo, and Experimental. The internet radio stations I visit don't always inform me who's playing, so I can't make a list. I am fond of:
Orb
Fragile State
Future Sound of London
Mur
Cocteau Twins
