Got the season 1 DVDs from Redbox and burned through them in two nights.

the blu ray seasons 1-7 were available so i got them all. watched in about 3 weeks (drove my ol' lady crazy.)

wait until there's a full season (at least) of a show before even the first episode.

we've been into british crime dramas more than usual of late. this week, "line of duty".
before that, "shetland" and "hinterland".

we've been watching game of thrones in real time only because spoilers are everywhere.

British crime drama and really well-done.

until you realize they have 3 murders a week on an island with only 79 people on it!

LOL I couldn't tale five minutes of that.

Not really binge watching more like one a day during dinner. I hate sitting at a dinner table.

We started on the old Twilight Zone but now we are watching Modern Family.

I sort of wish I'd never watched it (in real time when it was originally broadcast)--like to have those hours back.

But, it was the "thing" at the time. I'm just hoping I don't end up feeling like that about GOT.

It was painfully obvious that they were all dead the whole time. They were in a plane crash in the middle of the ocean for crying out loud. They would have at least starved.

My daughter turned to us midway through the 3rd season and said, “They’re dead!” We looked at each other and said “Maybe you should watch some more”.

We watched it convincing ourselves there was more to it. In the end it ended as it started, with Jack. It was about his redemption. Were the others also on a journey of redemption or was all of it in Jack’s mind as his life (or his re-imagined life) flashed in front of his eyes? The title alone said it all - He was LOST. Every episode ended in the boom Black like when someone dies.

They should've packed in some more answers in Seasons 3 and 4 and ended it at Season 4 finale, IMHO.

Seasons 5 and 6 were weak but the first four were pretty fun.

Thanks. The purgatory thing was the common assumption. My personal theory was that it was about magnets (actually read a really in depth post about that here on DU) but I just stayed on that to tease my wife.

I thought it was really well done especially with my take on it.

..i had a whole week between episodes to forget some of it. Towards the end it was just plain silly. You could tell the writers were struggling with the story line.

Easily one of the funniest shows I've ever seen.

I didn't have time to get involved when the program first started. Then I found 5 seasons on Netflex. It quickly became my afternoon obsession.

I record them all when they are running them.

but was reminded of the Ranch. Haven't finished either one of them. I don't watch much tee vee.

Very funny Canadian show about a very small town in Saskatchewan which is full of very quirky characters. The writers are very talented. Highly recommend.

Have you seen "The Grand Seduction" ? It's about a small town in Nova Scotia which has a shot at landing a stable employer but the employer won't commit because there is no doctor in the town.

Enter a young doctor with a tragic past who comes to the town to just get away from his life.

The townspeople begin plotting ways to keep him there long enough to convince the employer's site committee that in fact there is a doctor and a clinic in the town..

It is a delightful film and full of quirky characters.

My wife and I like to binge watch and we just finished Bosch and started on Narcos.

BTW, when you finish the series, Amazon has the full-length movie they did a few years later. You have to sort of search for it on prime, but it is there.

I'm now into the second season, maybe the last episode this afternoon.

I prefer the Fourth Doctor, Tom Baker, or maybe the Tenth, David Tennant.

Though I have to admit I missed most of the Peter Capaldi Doctor and have seen none of the episodes of the most recent one.

Now I'm burning through Veep on HBO.

I didn't remember any of the stories, but I totally remembered the theme song. Hokey as Hell, but an interesting niche of Americana.

6 episodes all about 45 -55 minutes long. Kept me interested. 3+ out of 5 stars. Not exactly binge watched, did about 1-2 episodes each night.

Even one episode a day is a binge in my book.

Been thinking about doing The Venture Brothers over from scratch. I binged the latest season a couple months ago and it was great (as always). With all this dreary weather I need some comedy.

Well, these days on American Gods he literally is, but just in general they don’t come any better. And Deadwood is absolutely fantastic. I cannot wait for the movie!

I don't have ateevee but my sister does and when I went to visit her last year she had the whole series so we drank a bottle of wine and laughed our asses off at a horrible but hilarious and absurd comedy.

"my name is earl" is an accurate portrayal of working class ("white trash" in classist terms) life.

I have been to the south a number of times and never wanted to live there. And I have seen that lifestyle in several places all over the country, especially southern California in the '70s.

But the series was hilarious.

Dances, interviews, fellow workers for fosse and verdan. My favorites if you want a perfect getaway: verdant pony dance, whatever Lola wants, who's got the pain...fosses early choreography has a sense of humor, just what we need now.

I never thought to look for bits of their shows and dances. D'oh, how stupid. I am listening to a biography of Fosse right now, listened before but wanted to as the F/V show comes to an end.

I like that Gwen stood up to the asshole over time. Smart lady. After that, Fosse couldn't abuse her any more. He was the one dependent on their relationship.

It is nice that she is getting the recognition for being as big a part of his success as he was.

Total fantasy. Total escape.

A funny show to get trump out of my head for a weekend.

Reagan-Era spy drama, extremely well done. In German with subtitles, and lots of plot twists.

I'm now watching one episode a night of The Outer Limits. Last night's episode featured David McCallum.

I'm also occasionally watching episodes of The Rifleman. Actually good writing, characters, and story lines.

I'm always on the lookout for past and future stars on these old network shows. You'd be surprised how often Harry Dean Stanton shows up in some supporting role, often credited as Dean Stanton.

I was watching it as came on, the first 3 seasons ... of course as they released a season at a time (as per usual on NF) I binged it every year. If I had NF I would love to finish it.

Still need to watch the last season of Boardwalk Empire, come to think of it (which I can since I have HBO Now atm) ... Oh, and OITNB ... watched that every year til the very last one.

I need to really go back and look at it all it’ll be backwards but that’s OK

It was helpful because there is a lot call back in season 4.

This season is much darker. Luci found out that being Satan isn't all fun and games.

Where did Eve first come in, as an example of missing info on this latest series for me

With stuff like that I found casually catching a part of an episode here and there harder to follow this season even more than the earlier series and my kid is almost done now , or is done , with watching 4 .
I did not see enough for any spoilers to be ruined so all good and yes,I really need to start from season 1

Started it when season 2 was already started so binged it to catch up.

Before that, Season 7 of GoT which I'd missed due to no HBO at the time.

Before that, I think it was season 1 of Ozark (that's all that was out at the time).

I was laid up and started one of those 1 month free subscriptions to Netflix.

Rachel as the other “binge watch” needs an antidote.

Also just watched Dead to me. Enjoyed both shows.

I watched one episode every 3 or 4 nights. That's a bender for me. I mostly avoid watching TV.
