It was painfully obvious that they were all dead the whole time. They were in a plane crash in the middle of the ocean for crying out loud. They would have at least starved.

My daughter turned to us midway through the 3rd season and said, “They’re dead!” We looked at each other and said “Maybe you should watch some more”.

We watched it convincing ourselves there was more to it. In the end it ended as it started, with Jack. It was about his redemption. Were the others also on a journey of redemption or was all of it in Jack’s mind as his life (or his re-imagined life) flashed in front of his eyes? The title alone said it all - He was LOST. Every episode ended in the boom Black like when someone dies.

https://www.eonline.com/news/521687/lost-bosses-finally-answer-were-they-really-dead-the-whole-time-what-was-the-whole-show-about

They should've packed in some more answers in Seasons 3 and 4 and ended it at Season 4 finale, IMHO.

Seasons 5 and 6 were weak but the first four were pretty fun.

Have you seen "The Grand Seduction" ? It's about a small town in Nova Scotia which has a shot at landing a stable employer but the employer won't commit because there is no doctor in the town.

Enter a young doctor with a tragic past who comes to the town to just get away from his life.

The townspeople begin plotting ways to keep him there long enough to convince the employer's site committee that in fact there is a doctor and a clinic in the town..

It is a delightful film and full of quirky characters.

But the series was hilarious.

Unforgotten season 4: What will it be about?

Cassie and Sunny will be back to investigate another emotionally charged and compelling cold case - but no details surrounding the historical crime has been shared yet.

In previous series we’ve seen murders motivated by revenge and sexual assault, while prevalent issues such as racism, homophobia, online trolling and historic sexual abuse have also impacted cases

I'm now watching one episode a night of The Outer Limits. Last night's episode featured David McCallum.

I'm also occasionally watching episodes of The Rifleman. Actually good writing, characters, and story lines.

I'm always on the lookout for past and future stars on these old network shows. You'd be surprised how often Harry Dean Stanton shows up in some supporting role, often credited as Dean Stanton.

Good performances and a great story (the source books are probably Bernard Cornwell’s best writing) but so many utterly idiotic and jarring moments where they butcher the history that it makes my skin crawl, none of which occur in the novels.

The Anglo-Saxons and Danes should have broadly the same equipment, yet the Saxon warriors carry these ridiculous little square shields that accomplish nothing. The Danish “shield wall” is some absurd parody of a Roman testudo with no basis in reality, and everyone’s armor is just all over than damned place in terms of accuracy.

That said, great story.

Mon May 20, 2019, 10:36 AM
May 2019

I’m also an extreme stickler for getting the details done right, when it comes to historical pieces, but it’s a rare thing to see. A couple examples:
- In the final episode of the outstanding “Band of Brothers,” the guys are playing baseball, but the gloves they’re using are clearly 1960s-80s vintage, definitely NOT what what you’d use in 1945.
- In John Houston’s masterful (but cut to pieces by studio execs) “Red Badge of Courage,” the Union infantry have 1876 crossed-rifles insignia affixed to their kepis, so NOT Civil War era correct. Also, due to budgetary constraints, the film was shot in Calabasas and Chico, California. Dry grass, native oak trees...all straight out of “Steinbeck country,” definitely not Virginia.

Being a history buff myself, when I see these goofs, it pulls me out of the story. So, as with a series like “Last Kingdom,” I just have let accuracy slide a bit, and focus on the characters and the basic narrative.
