From an English Professor -- short and to the point
In the world of hi-tech gadgetry, I've noticed that more and more
people who send text messages and emails have long forgotten the
art of capital letters.
For those of you who fall into this category, please take note of the
following statement:
"Capitalization is the difference between
Helping your Uncle Jack off a horse and helping your uncle jack off a horse."

(19,288 posts)Quite a bit once I started posting at DU. I stared out stream of consciousness flowing, with three dots at the end shortly after I found out no periods made all the sentences run together.
Someone posted in the Lounge that they detested posters who wrote in elipticals. I thought, oops, my poetic prose sucks to other readers.
I eventually even figured out how to drop down for a new paragraph. I didn't know what key did that for a long time.
I was very reticent to learn how to use a computer. DU made me do it. I blame this place.
