Ethical question regarding TV channel selection.

If the SO falls to sleep on the night 'her shows' are on...

does she lose the right to hold the remote if she starts snoring?

If she wakes up and finds I've changed the channel, do 'her shows' retain seniority?

tape hers, watch yours.

I would think that if she snores, the remote is yours. But I've gotten in trouble for thinking.

You know, where the tv's been on a show for 15 minutes unchallenged, the person selecting the show gets to watch it until boredom or the end of the show?

Then set the clock back to the right time and bring her coffee in the morning.

(inasmuch as I'm not married to or living with either one of you):

If she's snoring, the remote is up for grabs.

If she wakes up, whether she gets the remote back or not depends entirely on how much of the show you're watching has elapsed, and how much of the show she'd rather watch has elapsed. If she wakes up when both shows are barely 5 minutes in, - she get's it back. If she wakes up when both shows have 5 minutes left, you get to keep it at least until til the end of your show. If she wakes up at a point when one or both of the shows is in some mid point, I think a negotiation based on long-term loving relationship is not too much to hope for.

So yeah, if she snores she can look for spoilers on IMDB or something, 'cause that TV is switching to a good show...
