My best friend told me it is bad luck to eat chicken on New Year's Day-you might end up scratching for a living. I had some chicken I had to cook, but I can eat tomorrow. But I made Buffalo chunks, and I'm kind of tempted. So, I checked for other superstitions and found a couple of links that are fun to read:

I played Powerball, so I guess I'll save the chicken for tomorrow, j-i-c

(17,047 posts)I didn't know about the calendar. I put my new one on the wall behind 2019, simply to remember where it was!

(8,083 posts)over 30 years now) one has to eat black eyed peas on New Years Day. Fortunately, my very best friend here in L.A. is also from Tx. and we spend (along with a few others) our holidays together. And, she's a fabulous cook so the black eyes pea soup we had today was excellent!
