5. Thanks, me too. The only thing that worries me about an extended power failure is my aquarium.

The cats and I can huddle together to keep warm, but the aquarium is a problem. I took the precaution of getting a battery-powered air pump and hand warmers to tape to the sides so they won't suffocate and freeze to death. I also have one of those mylar blankets to wrap around it to keep the heat in as much as possible and got some sort of pellets that sucks up the ammonia. I guess I've done all I can do to ensure the safety of my frogs and fish. I sure hope I don't need it. I hope you dodge the storm, too!

I've been keeping an eye on the Consumer's Energy outage map and, well, there really aren't many. Also very few auto accidents in Genesee County. I'm cautiously optimistic we will be ok, but regardless, I'm not planning on actually going to bed, tonight. If the power goes out, I'll be bailing out the basement sump crock!

4. Are you under the Ice Storm Warning? We had about 3" of rain overnight which quickly began to

freeze at about 10:30 this morning so there were a lot of slide-offs on the highway & fender benders on the streets. The salt trucks weren't out early because the rain would've just washed it away. The slide-offs occurred before the trucks could treat the roads. One car struck a utility pole that knocked out power to almost 2,000 customers near Lansing Mall but they managed to restore it. I hope you dodge the worst of it. We're also under a flood warning until Thursday. A couple of buildings on the MSU campus about half a mile away from me have minor flooding. I'm high enough to avoid the water (2nd floor) but my apartment basement has water in it.

Stay safe!

Lots of rain, starting last night, but for most of today it's been lighter precip. Went from rain to sleet to somewhere between rain, sleet and snow, and then back around, again. I was on the roads at about 10, this morning, and they were fine, in the Flint area. There have been a couple of power outages, but they probably weren't weather related. LOTS of flooded roads, though.

We are just above freezing, right now, so once the temps drop, the roads will probably be treacherous. I bet most power outages will be due to cars hitting poles!

Fingers crossed I'll be staying up all night, for nothing. The carbon monoxide detector gives off a loud, horrific screech if the power goes out, so if I do fall asleep, I'll definitely not be able to sleep through that.

Take care!!

Things...then we learned they're a piece of cake for cats to open! Now a couple of doors have a child -proof device that solved the problem. Thanks for the video!❤

And when he wants to go out to the patio he does the same thing with the curtains and he’ll start scratching where he knows he shouldn’t, or he attacks the corner of the rug.

He’s laid back most of the time though.
