(23,179 posts)3. OMG, me too! I had the long curly hair and loved to sing, but could never sing like that.
Saw her at West Palm Beach pop festival in 1970 and she was such a live wire, so on, so damn good it almost made me cry. She was the high point of the festival for me, although Jefferson Airship and the Stones played after her, they weren't as brilliant as "ON" as she was.

I just love, love, love her singing this song - from the first time I heard it in the 60's until now, it never fails to moves me. Even after hearing it thousands of times, but not recently, it brings me to tears from the pain and the beauty.
