HOA contracted roofers to replace ALL the hail-damaged roofs/windows in my neighborhood this week.

They brought in massive cherry-pickers and flat-bed trucks to load all the materials up on roofs, closing off the roads in and out (so that I got to lug two bags of groceries and two gallons of milk three blocks from my car). Oh, joy... My section of homes starts today and yesterday's preview (delivery of tons of supplies) has my head pounding.

I'm already hovering between storm front-incited migraines and there is nowhere to go to escape the noise for more than a few hours. My poor pup is going to be hysterical.

Ok. I don't have COVID-19, sooo, perspective, but boy is this going to be a hard week.

SO, how's your week going? sigh...

Irma damage finally fixed. Good luck! It takes longer and more messy than anticipated, so get yourself some ear buds and an Audible account. Good luckl

At least, so far, there hasn't been construction work, but I did find a leak recently and that is going to need to be repaired. I have no clue who to contact to do it either. So many around here will do a lousy job or not finish the job at all. Others will do the job, give little guarantee on their work and charge way too much.

I feel for you with a migraine AND construction work. That is insult added to injury. I wish they would come up with a way to cure migraines or at least treat them better.

During the current situation, with so many people not working, you'd think that those who still have jobs would try to do a good job, but it seems like a whole lot just don't give a hoot. I'm in the process of painting the exterior of my house. I just can't see paying someone many dollars to do a crappy job. I may try to hire someone to do the very tall side, but then again it might just be better to rent a boom lift so I don't have to be irritated about them messing it up.

I just have no confidence in anymore.

The worst was the tear-off. My cats were nowhere to be seen from the moment the roofers arrived until they left that first night, but the second day they weren't nearly as freaked out.

I can only imagine what it would be like for so many to be done at the same time, especially with a migraine. You have my sympathy for what you're going to have to endure.

At least we were able to escape the noise. The good news is, as long as it doesn't rain they will be done fairly quick on your building.

Turn on some music to drown out the noise a bit.

Your poor pup.

who usually takes fireworks, thunder, and lightning in stride, is not doing so with the pounding on the roof. She's pretty inconsolable but hopefully may do better in the basement.

It feels unconscionable to complain when so much misery is inflicting so many, but I hadn't realized my three days off would be like this.

This too shall pass, hopefully.

My daughter suffers with migraines too, and I know that she can hardly stand loud noises when she's having one. Even without a migraine, we all have our sensitivities. Your pain and discomfort are real, and you don't need to apologize for it.

Only good news is instead of 17,000 dollars it only cost the deductible of $4,680. Why roofs are so expensive is a mystery and ours in Florida don’t even last that long. Ugh!!!
