Bottom line, only glass, silverware and ceramics. Each piece of silverware has its own designated space in the side tray. Plates have to be large enough to ensure they don't shift around unnecessarily.
It's a thing of beauty. Trust me on that.

As for the unloading chore, its ten minutes of my life Ill never get back.
