(16,230 posts)Maybe it's for the movie.
Did anyone ever find out what that original ad was really for?

(12,162 posts)I read that the original ad was placed as a joke by someone. Maybe that's just what the writer of the article thought. There are lots of strange people out there, so I thought it was for real.

(16,230 posts)or it was placed by a mentally unbalanced person.
I suppose that it could also have been some sort of clandestine signal. "When you see the ad, plan X commences at midnight", or "stop the drops we've been compromised".

(12,162 posts)for a long time, so I don't think it was a publicity stunt for this movie, anyway.
I tend to think it was a clandestine signal, like some I've seen now and then on DU to alarm lurking freepers.

(12,162 posts)trailer, I thought it looked like fun. I hope it is.
charlie and algernon
(13,447 posts)It was excellent. The first half is very funny and then it becomes very heartfelt and poignant. The whole cast is solid and has very intelligent dialogue. You really feel for Kenneth, who desperately believes in his time machine and the relationship between him and Aubrey Plaza's character is very touching. They both play outcasts who are desperate for respect and someone to hold on to.
I HIGHLY, HIGHLY recommend seeing it.

(12,162 posts)see it. It sounds like my kind of movie for sure. Thanks for your review!
I'm going to spread the word. My kids, grandkids and I have always gotten a kick out of the ad, and we've all been wondering if the movie is any good.
