There is another recording with various artists called Hamilton Mix Tapes too with a lot of good lyrics inspired by the musical and also some numbers that were deleted from the play by Miranda
Artists like Roots Alicia Keys Sia mixing up lyrics or the music with differnt themes

I couldn’t get enough when Hamilton came out and I got a random back seat in Chicago for cheap one afternoon when the musical came here, but I want to see Miranda and the original cast
and I’ll be “front row “ on my couch 😊

I think it is an understatement to call it a great musical. I think it is a true piece of art that is an American treasure.

The fact that one person wrote the lyrics, music and performed the leading role is remarkable.

And beyond the genius, it really was a remarkable vision. Can you imagine the pitch meeting? "i'm thinking about a three hour sung-through musical about a marginal historical figure. Oh and even though it is a period piece, it will be done in hip-hop style with an all POC cast. And it will be written and scored by me for me to star in". If I had heard that pitch fifteen years ago, I could never have imagined it working.

And just to keep it at least a little bit political...it shows what can happen when you have a President with taste that fosters the arts. This video is a remarkable early view of the development process with Lin performing in the White House. I love it because you can instantly see the kernel of genius even though it wasn't even intended to be a musical yet at that time.

I finally watched it last night after being familiar with only a few tunes from the soundtrack, and obviously a bunch of my students who are obsessed with it I did not realize how much I would instantly go for it. The show is so lyrically heavy that I find myself not grasping all of it simply by listening to the soundtrack. Experiencing the full, staged event really captures what it's about.

Man, it is a game changer for Broadway. One of those things like Showboat or West Side Story that becomes a before-and-after moment for music theater. The rhymes, mix of music styles, superb acting and singing, the inspired treatment of old history. It is almost operatic in scope in the way that the music basically never stops.

It also is exciting to see something from live theater become such a phenomenon (instead of a movie or app or social media or other more common music and media formats). Just like "Harry Potter" showed that books can still be a huge part of pop culture, "Hamilton" has shown us that theater--and specifically music theater--moves people, whether they are theater elites or casual fans. Remarkable stuff, "Hamilton."

I’m going to have to watch a couple more times over the next week. Pick up on things I’m sure I missed the first time

And, yes, it was just invigoratingly different
