Played lap steel and fiddle with Jackson Browne early-on. Before that he was a member of Kaleidoscope, a band that was noteworthy for blending Middle-Eastern and American roots music styles. He's a virtuoso on just about any stringed instrument imaginable.

He even sang lead falsetto on one of the "hit" songs - not sure of the exact title but it started with
