my poor state

my poor, beautiful state. feels like nothing but heat and misery right now.

they've gotten a couple smaller fires and a big grass fire out on the plains contained in the last couple days, but the one down in co springs exploded today. the pictures are terrifying. got one going in south boulder now.

gone is the joy of the rain, only a reminder that she can take just as quickly as she gives.

talked to my friend's mom today, she's handling it as well as she can. it'll be a couple weeks before we can get together, but i'll probably give her a call this weekend.

they've made a bit of progress in containment, but it's still growing to the southwest. beetle kill and steep terrain out that way.

and the heat is killing me. it's been 30 degrees too hot for a couple weeks now, don't think it's gotten below 80 in my apartment in about as long. it's just now getting cool enough to where sleep is bearable.

i'm going to take a cold shower and think rainy, cool thoughts
