I know you're going through a lot right now. Hang in there. We are behind you 100%. If I could do this for you I would. If I could sit beside you and give you comfort I would. You are loved.

(15,313 posts)Somethhing tangential...maybe useful
I remember the first time I really laughed after my mom died.
Then I felt guilty. Did I "not love her enough" to continue feeling so bad?
Otoh... bc my mom had been sick off & on since I was 5 1/2 (much better in her ?mid 50s) when she hit 80+ I started thinking ..."uh oh". I thought about it, and came up with a "mantra":
"she wouldn't want me to be too sad for too long".
Of course, I'd be how ever I'd be. But the thought was true. I know it helped me from being completely overwhelmed.
Take those moments of joy, forgetting briefly why you're so upset, etc.
Step by step.

(26,059 posts)it through the next two days, I will be happy. In our family, it used to be 3 days visitation and a high Mass., plus the service at the burial site. It was exhaustion. They say that funeral bring out the best and worst of people. Yes, it has.My parents never got along. My husband is doing a eulogy--Mother can't understand why. I will keep my mouth shut. It's rather a shame. I made a board of pictures of my father's life. I was going to present to my mother--she doesn't want it. You typical crap.
