The DU Lounge
Related: Culture Forums, Support ForumsWell, I'm out of ICU but they won't let me go home
OK, mid December I got an echcardiogram that showed clot on the sort valve that was replaced in 2017. Three days later, it was confirmed switch a CT scan
Weny thru the holidays. Visited with most of the family,l good. Monday husband and I were sick. We treated the symptoms and stayed.
Thursday when I laid down on bed I couldn't breathe
, told husband I needed to ho to hospital. stopped at rural firestation on the way. I asked for ambulance-don't remember anything after that.
Work up sometime Ftiday with tube coming out of everywhere. Congestive heart failure and pneumonia
Bottom line is they are pumpimg fluids out of me to help with PNEUMONia and filling with bloodthinners to break up clot. Don't know when I will get out of hospital.

(43,287 posts)and a good bit of luck when the journey began. Cardiologists are so adept nowadays because they network. You could be there awhile. They won't discharge until they're satisfied.

(70,582 posts)Let the medical people do what is needed and get sometime to watch the stars, moon, and or
the sun from your bed or nice comfy chair. I am just getting through months of treatments
now.
Just remember that WHEN you get out you bring a plate of good things and some, beer, wine,
and or sparkling water to them. Or put together a nice planter for the station too.
DU has your back.

(11,613 posts)You've got to take it easy and follow doctors' orders when you get home. While you are still in the hospital you may want to ask for your pillow from home. I remember them being flat as pancakes in the hospital.
It is wonderful you are still with us. Keep us updated please!
