(2,905 posts)Philip Ober played Lester Townsend who was married to Vivian Vance at one time.
JoseBalow
(2,516 posts)I love Vivian Vance. I just saw her recently in a really good old noir film with Robert Ryan and Claudette Colbert the other day, Secret Fury
rogerballard
(2,905 posts)I wonder if that is where Viv and Philip met for the first time...

(8,083 posts)James Woods in Casino was Lester Diamond. Casino's one of my favorite movies of all time. I've seen it too many times to count!
JoseBalow
(2,516 posts)I love that movie too, it's been a while since I've seen it. Wasn't Joe Pesci just great in that? One of the worse deaths I've seen.
And Don Rickles was in it!

(7,514 posts)was Friedrich Wilhem von Wildau. Born 1880 served in WW, was wounded 3 times, once severely. A proud Prussian, he detested the 3rd Reich, never joined the Nazi Party. He was then put in charge Stalag Luft III, the "Great Escape" camp. Both the allied prisoners and his staff revered him for his integrity and humanity. After the escape he avoided court-martial by feigning illness. Send back into combat he was wounded again. After the surrender, he spent about two years in prison. His former POWs supported him and he was released. He passed in 1963.

(27,875 posts)I just watched the film for the first time about a week ago, and over the past few days, I replayed the last 30 minutes several times,
Cliff gives the Manson girl a ride to Spahn Movie Ranch, insists on seeing George Spahn (Bruce Dern), then making that Manson freak change the tire he had stuck a knife in.
Then, after drinking Margaritas all night at a Mexican restaurant, Leo Di Caprio & Cliff both return to Leo's house in a taxi.
Cliff smokes an acid-laced cigarette, takes his dog for a walk, then comes back & is starting to feed the dog when Tex & 2 Manson girls break-in to the house, and then it really gets good.
(Too bad Quentin Tarantino's ending wasn't what actually happened)
