Why is it so evil that I never got married?

I'm 64, and have never got married.

I don't mind those who did get married, but I just got a chewing out from an elderly aunt for never getting married.

I told her to mind her own fucking business, (in those words,) since she's on her THIRD marriage.

(All three divorces.)

I had 3 sisters go through nasty divorces.

I have been told that not procreating was a sin against god.

I have been for 22 years. It is my third marriage.
Good for you for doing what worked best for you.
Life doesn't have a "one-size-fits-all" template.
Have a great week.

5. If YOU are happy then you did the right thing. Marriage isn't for everyone, and you know what?

Life should never be lived Dot to Dot; mapped out like a big plan.
I know a LOT of people who had no business getting married and made other people unhappy because
they couldn’t trust themselves to get out of a bad relationship.
Your life isn’t over, either. You might meet the love of your life at 75.

Yea, tell her to kiss your rosy ass.

7. Point of clarification: Didn't you mean two divorces since third marriage is still active?

Also do not despair. Sometimes your "legal" partner will change the rules of the game (if you even have any) to decidedly in their favor or you will marry a contrarian who when they agree with you, the first word out of their mouths is "No!". Or someone who will bring up crap you did way before you ever met them.

9. Why do some people think other people's life choices are any of their business?

I was married for awhile. We weren't planning on reproducing, which made some people whose business that was none of unhappy. After a time we split up, (a divorce without children is a whole lot less messy than one with them) and we've both been happier ever since. And none of it was ever anybody's goddamn business. Live your life and tell the old biddy to fuck right off.

I can’t understand where people get off chastising someone else for not getting married or not having children. I don’t care if they are family or not. It’s SO none of their business! Live the life that’s right for you.

My younger daughter isn’t married. She’s almost 40, happy with her man and their two children, but just doesn’t want to get married. I wouldn’t DARE anyone to tell her there’s anything evil about that. She is one of Europe’s top attorneys. She’ll rip your argument to shreds before you can say, “but, but…”

13. Marriage is a business contract, not love.

Beware of contracts that are easier to get into than out of. Fifty percent--maybe more now-- of marriages end in divorce court. A coin toss. It's brutal (twice for me).
Love is grand, marriage not so much.
YMMV

You deserve better treatment from people. For what it’s worth I think you’re fantastic just the way you are. You do you!
