But, I played Van Gogh in a kids show once. I begged them to let me do some makeup to mangle my ear, but they refused. I prefer to be accurate in such matters, but it was a kids show and they just did not want the kids to ask why I looked like that. Oh well.

I do like his work. 'Starry Night' is still my favorite.

I've never done that before or since in a museum.

I did ask an attendant as I was leaving (and after I pulled myself together), if he had ever seen anyone break down and cry in front of these works of art and he said "All the time." A year or so later I was in Boston's MFA the same question and he nodded "Oh, yes."

I'll be in the Matisse Museum in Nice next month and will ask an attendant the same question.
