Here's another way to handle not being able to take a pet with you. Back in December there was a knock on my door, and the couple across the street were holding their orange cat, Tony, and said, "We're moving, and our new place won't let us have a cat, so will you take him?"

Earlier in the year, for several months, Tony spent most of his time with me. I let his humans know that he was with me, so they wouldn't worry. I'm so glad he spent time with me and that I let them know, because when they offered him to me I said "Yes!"

I'm only sorry that I didn't ask pertinent questions such as, Is he chipped? Does he have a vet? How old is he?

Not to worry. He and my other cat, Tatiana (adopted in July, 2020) get along incredibly well. They are both better with another cat in the household.
