Oh, the tales he has told. Apparently it was a pretty rough place back then (30s, 40s and 50s).

He liked to regale us with stories of battling giant rats on the edge of the Hudson River.
He never like the Nutcracker as a result even though my mother wanted us to see it in The City every year.

Not the faceless, 'roid-bulked, armored hulks that are on the streets today. I can't help feeling the change has been for the worse.
