I used to think the greatest thing ever would be an alcohol antidote. You could go out and get drunk and when it

was time to go home, take your sober shot, wait a little while and you'd be fine to drive home. I never grooved on being drunk still at home after I've been out.

Then I thought about the downside. That would be abused. People would get drunk all the time when they usually couldn't and blow their livers out way faster. I might have. Gotta pick up the kids in a few hours, no problem! Same with work.

the secretion of which, alcohol suppresses-- leading to dilute urine, dehydration, and contributing to headaches and other symptoms of "hangover." Young and foolish behavior (Med School and Vet School types), but not baseless in terms of physiological interventions.

Would this be safe to do regularly? Undoubtedly not. However given the impact on the kidneys and liver from chronic alcohol intoxication, it does point to some directions for intervention. Still, to do so only enables more destructive alcohol behaviors.
