Some jerk in our immediate neighborhood started with a chainsaw at 7:00 this morning

still at it. I was already up, however I know that a number of my neighbors were blasted out of bed much earlier than their normal getting up time.
We have 3 houses behind us and one to the side with enough large trees to cause this much disturbance.

It has been going on for an hour and 15 minutes.

as far as times permitted, and decibel levels, and duration. That is a nuisance violation in many areas. Talk with your neighbors. Township zoning or police should know the local laws. If any homeowners' association they may also have rules.

equipment until 7. Nothing you can do about it.

We wanted to start even earlier if we could to avoid the heat in the summer. Once in a while we'd get a homeowner that could assure us his neighbors wouldn't care and we'd get to start earlier.

best to run a chainsaw early morning when it's cooler. Cutting wood is hot dirty work.

Almost every municipality will have an enforceable noise ordinance. Usually 07:00 or 08:00.

And by “enforceable” I mean anywhere but Santa Cruz. Nothing is enforced in Santa Cruz.

Maybe go for a morning stroll and randomly say hi? A short convo might get you info about your neighbors project like completion date, scope and scale, other contractors arriving later for stump grinding, trenching or dirt work. Are they building a new house over the next 6 months or simply doing some spring brush work this morning only?

Good luck and good rest!

I’m curious. What would be the right time to start chain saw work where you live? Same as when banks open?

but most of the private contractors' vehicles are en route about 10 a.m. Seem to head home about 3 or 4 p.m.

State, county crews start about 8 a.m., break for lunch, work till 5, depending on the job. They work in all weather now.

Neighbors do what they want when they want.

the tree work done, and they want to get their work in before it gets hot. I have heard in Alaska people do that
kind of work at 3am.

Not at 7 a.m. but all afternoon.

The assault on their faux Nature started in February this year and will continue into November. If the neighbors aren't cutting their golf course size yards, they are cutting trees to make the yard bigger. :/

So he starts off with it's a sweet breeze morning, mid Spring, early Summer, and has the early morning peaceful instrumental music - you'd recognize if I hummed for you.
Ahhh...

But then he hears someone hammering something in the distance. Garbage cans opened and closed. Something, something....
and finally the lawnmowers one by one start up. As he's describing this he's getting more frantic ..aaarrrrrggggg!

Sorry, can't remember how it ends
