on the side of a road, although it wasn't a sign. This was before cell phones.

I dated a guy who lived next to a large cemetery on a semi rural road. About midway down the road next to the cemetery, with no nearby houses, was a telephone booth.

I thought, "Wow. That's some long distance calling."
