(54,445 posts)How very well put. And we learned early that they were our progeny, but not our property. I think that's one of the secrets to raising children, and it is anything BUT an exact science. I think we did alright, but that only means we got lucky more than "we wrote the book." We know well-meaning parents who fared far worse than we did, and we are as clueless as they are as to why.
Just wow. They do outrun us...

(54,445 posts)When she was two years old, a friend of ours nicknamed her "Madame 10,000 volts." She hasn't lost much of her charge since then, either. She thinks nothing of running down to Zanzibar for a long weekend to see friends she hasn't seen in a while. I'm used to travel, but that's out of my league.
