I just moved my bed

Its a heavy bed. I would guess all told, at least 350 pounds.

My wife is sick and sleeping on the couch. I did it myself. Cause that's how I roll.

Now I have a problem. The electrical plug that is connected to the light switch is blocked off by the bed. Completely. I might as well have just built a second wall in front of it, for as much access as I can get.

I have no lights, and it is getting dark. What should I do?

I initially read that as something very different.

Clearing out the cobwebs and moving on...

I do have flashlights But what I think I really need is an extension cord with a flat plug that can fit between the darn bed and the wall. I know I used to have one. Probably more than one. But I hain't got a clue where they have got to.

Also, I need to move the dresser, all the crap that was under the bed, and all of the other things that are currently blocking the doorway so that only a nimble person might successfully enter the room without injury. While my wife is usually quite capable, when in the grips of a massive head cold sinus infection complex of doom, nimble she ain't.

We knew that we had at least one flat plug extension cord. We had it before we moved, and would not have thrown it away, but we could not find it anywhere.

So three years after moving, I finally broke down and bought another flat plug extension cord. Before I got a chance to more the blocking piece of furniture and plug it in, I found TWO flat plug extension cords in a box I SWEAR I had looked in for those cords!

Of course, I no longer had the receipt or the packaging for the new cord, so now I have three flat plug extension cords. And I still have not moved the piece of furniture blocking that outlet so I can plug at least one of the damned things in.

...on both sides and cabinets and a shelf across the top, behind it, and with a mirror. It weighs about six tons. One does not move this, one disassembles it. Both outlets and the phone jack are behind the nightstand parts and there's no other way to fit the thing in our room. Fortunately my wife has petite arms and was able to plug in a phone jack and an APC UPS. It's under the headboard and I ran extensions out on either side of the bed for easy access. We don't worry about the alarm not going off, and always have light even if the substation craps out. Give it a try. A 350 or 500 will work fine.
