Watch Live Cam of Giraffe birth from the Dallas Zoo!

http://www.animalplanet.com/tv-shows/giraffe-birth-live/

A Baby Is Born!

Animal Planet is privileged to bring you a remarkable event -- the birth of a giraffe on camera right here and on TV — from the Dallas Zoo. Katie the Giraffe, one of the friendliest and most charismatic of the Dallas Zoo's large herd, gave birth to a healthy calf at 5:50pm CT Friday, April 10. You're looking at the indoor facilities for giraffes at the Zoo's award-winning Giants of the Savanna habitat, including the maternity stall, where eight different cams are capturing every angle.

Miss the birth or want to see it again? Watch video highlights including the birth and first steps in our special playlist.

The narrator said the 6' drop at birth is akin to a doctor slapping a newborn on the butt.

I had no idea!

It was so cute to watch the other giraffes watching over the top of their cages.

C'mon baby. Get all 4 legs pointed in the same direction at one time.

They can't figure out what their trunk is for.

Amazing that it only took 47 minutes...the legs were so spindly!
