Hi Friends,Much appreciate, good thoughts, and prayers,
I just got the call for the time of surgery.
I've seen my eye surgeon earlier this morning and he needs to get in there at the tear duct and actually place the antibiotic at the source. And he's cutting out a growth of tissue that covers the tear duct caused by the length of time with the infection. He's also removing a chalazion to do a biopsy, caused by the infection.
I'm looking forward to take photos again and enjoy the view without rolling tears down my face and I won't miss the pain either.
Just be free and have a normal eye will be Wonderful!
Thanks everybody!

(17,005 posts)My left eye is bandaged up and I see the doctor first thing in the morning.
The surgery went well and I've got a bunch of eye drops for a few weeks to do.
Having a normal eye will be the best birthday present one could ask for.
And I'm blessed having friends like you all!
I have to take it easy, no bending or eye straining and no lifting for awhile.
We'll celebrate my 17,000 posts when I return all healed up.
Thank you for all the good thoughts!

(17,005 posts)My second surgery went well on the 26th of May and I saw the surgeon on the 27th for the follow up. He feels confident he has gotten all the bacteria infection in the tear ducts, specially where the upper and lower tear duct join area, that's where it made a home and caused such pain. No ointment or antibiotics could reach that area, so extensive surgery was necessary. It's been a battle to say the lease with the long length of time, I am worn out.
I will continue to use antibiotics and a gel type antibiotic ointment for the upper corner of the eye at the opening of the tear duct.
I thanked the doctor and told him what a great surgeon he is.
I see him again Monday. In the meantime, I'm very fatigued, and will follow doctor's orders.
Thank You ALL for your Good Thoughts and Prayers, I truly felt them.

(10,998 posts)From experience with non compliant relatives after eye surgery, do exactly what the doctor tells you. Do not bend over or pick up anything until doc gives you the ok. Both my relatives ignored this and had to get theirs redone.
