with hand-me-down toys, I'll wager asbestos.
Seriously though the coolest thing we had in the house was a pair of asbestos gloves that came from a foundry. We could just stick our hand into the fire place and re-arrange logs. Hey, it was the 70's.

Matchbox cars ("Made in England by Lesney" , erector sets, Lincoln logs, electric train sets, and stuffed animals without any bones inside.

I remember being terrified of the Jack-In-the-Box. I wonder if they still make those.
