A massive explosion drew Jakey into the bathroom. He sniffed cautiously and backed out He looked like he was headed to a funeral.
Now he looks relieved that I'm still walking around
The sounds coming from my gut are awfully ominous. More soup time...

(10,998 posts)If you have some thyme, mint and rosemary growing in your yard, pick a few sprigs toss them in some boiling water, cover your head and the steam with a towel for 10-20 minutes, use it as a sinus/lung steam cleanse. Plus it makes a great first step on a facial.

(14,881 posts)and I never grew rosemary. I do have lots of mint though. Chocolate mint and spearmint
Apparently yucky summer cold wasn't enough of an affliction. The bug I thought I squished before it bit got my eyelid. I didn't see or feel the bite, but that's what was causing the headache behind my right eye. Woke up this am and the eyelid is all swollen and poofy, right eye bloodshot and streaming tears.
I'm a pathetic sight at the moment. Feel like crap still, too. Muggy weather not helping....

My lemon thyme didn't make it either. My dog dug up the other herbs, bad doggie. So now I only have spearmint and parsley.

(14,881 posts)My eyeball is fine, albeit bloodshot. It's not impacting my vision at all. The headache behind the eye is actually gone now that the response is all externalized.
bad doggie. Although I lost my lemon thyme, I had a herb miracle. My tarragon, which hadn't made it through the winter before last, has returned. I found it right behind my italian oregano!
And my lavender made it through last winter as well. We hit minus mid-twenties, maybe even minus thirty last winter. Can't believe the lavender made it, but she is thriving. I think I'll go inhale some right now, come to think of it...

(10,998 posts)My herbs died because of the drought here in the SW. Put a drip in the garden this year, so far so good.

(14,881 posts)my lavender is thriving. She put out a baby lavender, and now has a runner to another plant and looks to be starting another 2 runners!
The tarragon is looking good too. I loooove tarrogon with mushrooms and chicken

(14,881 posts)For 2nd time in 2 days, swallowed wrong and almost choked to death, with worried doggies looking on.
Things have quieted down for the moment. Thank dawg. It was getting pretty miserable, hacking away and eyes running. Getting nothing done...too bad I needed a cold to give myself the downtime my body was desperate for.
Thank dawg the ponies are quiet today, too. Not as hot or buggy as yesterday, when they started galloping trying to get away from the flies. Checked on them earlier...they've learned to stand next to each other head to tail so they swat each other's flies with their tails.
Made it to supermarket, where I bought another round of generic dayquil and nightquil gelcaps, plus 2 more bags of ricola. I took the last of the honey-lemon yesterday, so had to settle for original formula.

(72,300 posts)I hope you have in the fridge cause you might get thirsty with all that sweating.
If nothing else the beer will make you feel better too. The woman who told me about the hot lemonade also recommended Guinness Ale instead of yellow beer.
