this is Velvet Underground. Did you confuse the melon with the banana?

All I can say
Is that my life is pretty plain
I like watchin' the puddles gather rain

to the lyric in my subject line.

I wouldn't confuse Lou with ANYONE. Back in the days when I was the DUer known as Amerigo Vespucci, and I had a donor star, this photo was the one I used for my avatar:

First time he requested it. After that, I'd just play it. My mama, as they say, did not raise a fool.

Coincidentally I've been listening to them a lot myself just lately. We recently had to put my dog on some heavy duty narcotics and I said, the right music for the right drugs boy, so I've been playing VU.

Especially this song - I listen to this all the time and I only love it more and more...

Cheers to your fine musical taste Miles Archer.

...I recently put together a new CD-length VU playlist. There might be a song or two purists would say is missing, but I honed this down after about 6 complete plays and removing songs that killed the buzz and adding songs that enhanced it. That said, this is my VU "Desert Island Disc."

I'm Waiting For The Man
Venus In Furs
Heroin
White Light / White Heat
I Heard Her Call My Name
Sister Ray
Candy Says
Some Kinda Love
Pale Blue Eyes
Beginning To See The Light
I'm Set Free
Head Held High
Train Round The Bend
Sweet Jane
Rock & Roll

The ones I most listen to are

I'm Waiting for The Man
White Light/White Heat
Sister Ray
Pale Blue Eyes
Beginning To See The Light
Rock & Roll
Stephanie Says
Sweet Jane

and mostly, of course, Heroin. Always Heroin.

Sometimes you get in one of those moods and only VU will scratch the itch.

I was trying to find a song online that was playing in my head and found your old old post about help id-ing a 60s instrumental song (post dated aug 15 2010). My husband asked what I was searching for and when I hummed it, he said oh, that's Baby Elephant Walk from Henri Mancini. I'm sure you've completely forgotten about that post but all your hints sounded exactly like the song I was looking for so I wanted to share in case this was the one.
