The Baseball Project w/ Mike Mills & special guest, Bill Berry, closed Athfest 2015!
I was there this past Sunday evening, June 28 in downtown Athens, GA on a beautiful summer evening!
My family and I had a great time listening to two of our favorite hometown musicians. This was a free concert on the main outdoor Athfest stage near the 40 Watt Club. We are huge music and baseball fans, so this was a perfect concert!
My favorite Baseball Project song of the set was Pascual on the Perimeter, about when former Atlanta Braves pitcher, Pascaul Perez, got lost on Atlanta's perimeter highway I-285 and missed a game for which he was the starting pitcher! (This was LONG before cell phones and GPS!)
I thought y'all might enjoy this video of Bill Berry joining the Baseball Project (a super group band who songs are all about baseball! http://thebaseballproject.net/ ) to close Athfest 2015 with (Don't Go Back To) Rockville, a song which Mike Mills wrote for rem.
Mike dedicated this performance to his hometown, Athens, GA. What a treat it was to hear one of my favorite rem songs live!
