(33,688 posts)- Dreaming and 11:59 - so I will "settle" for
That video brought two thoughts to my mind:
1. How utterly, supernaturally gorgeous Debbie was back in the day; and
2. Clem Burke should have replaced Keith Moon in the Who after Moony died.

(20,254 posts)I saw Blondie at the House of Blues in LA in 2004. Of course, it was no surprise that Debbie was wonderful. But it was my first time seeing the band live. Clem's drumming, at age 49, was nothing short of amazing. So intense and powerful!
He was the first drummer I ever saw behind a plexiglass shield. He definitely needed it; not just for the volume control but to catch some of his sweat - LOL.

(33,688 posts)Power, speed, control, and a backbeat that you could rest a skyscraper on. He's pounding on the door of the Carl Palmer class. I would love to play bass against a drummer like Clem.

Fuck, I want to see them again so bad, but they aren't coming anywhere near Texas. I'm crossing my fingers that they'll announce some fall dates.

(33,688 posts)when you play bass, you dream of drummers like Clem. No matter what happens, you NEVER have to worry about where "ONE" is. And a drummer who has the time sense of an atomic clock, which he has, is the Holy Grail.
"Dreaming" by itself is enough to put 99% of the drummers in the world on the refuse cart. Jeezus, what a performance.
